WIIWD – Why we must think about What It Is We Do?

BDSM/禁羈社群的能見度近年來越來越高。「格雷」讓 BDSM 成為彷彿深入家家戶戶的晚餐時間話題前。事實上，皮衣、皮鞭、繩縛等符號早就已經被流行文化挪用。越來越多新人進入 BDSM 圈，BDSM 被推著與社會上種種價值對話。我們也面臨了這個時代的新挑戰：我們似乎不能只說「我就是愛這樣」而已，而必須回答、思考這些「我們愛做的事」有什麼意義。為什麼我們得怎麼做？有什麼方向可思考？

六月的華麗色情冒險講座中，ItsPlay 將簡短回顧 BDSM/禁羈社群的歷史，討論目前 BDSM 能見度越來越高的狀況，並為何禁羈人們應該好好想想「我們愛做的事」的意義。

註：WIIWD (What It Is We Do) 這詞約出現於 95 年，可大致譯為「我們愛做的事」。提倡者認為圈內人的多樣喜好無法放到 “BDSM” 這個框架裡，因此建議用這個更模糊的稱呼。

This talk will focus on a brief historical overview of the development of our kinky community and then discuss our increasing public visibility. ItsPlay will then present the argument that it is important that we as kinksters put careful thought into WIIWD – What It Is We Do.

The talk will be presented in English, with Chinese interpretation. Discussion welcomed.

# 關於 ItsPlay

美國出生，曾居香港，目前在各地旅遊的繩師與學者。一直都有著禁羈的因子，自從參加過一次 Burning Man 活動的美妙經驗後，便投入了禁羈圈子中。ItsPlay從社會文化的脈絡研究禁羈與展演，特別聚焦於緊縛、性別、與女性主義。於倫敦學習繩縛，並以學術與實踐雙軌並行的方式探索此主題，一方面參與活動、進行表演，一方面也發表論文並在學術研討會中講演，希望提升大眾對禁羈與緊縛的了解與認識。

About ItsPlay

Kinky since forever and heavily involved in the kink scene since a fantastic experience at Burning Man 2012, ItsPlay is proud to facilitate this workshop for SLAP!. ItsPlay researches kink and performance in a sociocultural context, specifically focusing on kinbaku, gender, and feminism. While in London, ItsPlay started learning to tie, and quickly began exploring the subject both academically and practically. Continuing as a theoretical practitioner, ItsPlay has now been tying for over 5 years and has presented papers and talks at academic conferences, hoping to raise the general level of recognition of, and appreciation for, kink, and kinbaku.
